Paul Markwalter, General Manager of King’s Services & Construction in Lewiston, and Terry Voorhees, Store Manager of WalMart in Clarkston, have been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Greater Idaho Chapter of the Red Cross. Both will be up for election at the May 17th Annual Meeting.

Markwalter has seen first-hand the relief and aid the Red Cross provides in the midst of disaster. He was in Florida after Hurricane Andrew slammed into the Coast and witnessed the assistance given to others by the organization. “Knowing that all of our collaborative efforts are going out to assist people in need is what I will enjoy most about being involved with the Red Cross,” he said.

Voorhees has had years of experience with the Red Cross in Alaska. As a WalMart manager in Anchorage, his store served as the Emergency Operations Center for several simulated disaster exercises. He was then asked to serve on their Board of Directors. Voorhees said, “I look forward to being part of the Red Cross that provides assistance for disaster victims here in the Lewiston/Clarkson Valley.”

“We are very pleased to have Paul and Terry representing the North Central District of the Greater Idaho Chapter. They both have a great deal to offer in the way of experience and management skills,” commented Jerry Nielsen, Interim CEO.
