The Cape Fear Chapter of the American Red Cross is pleased to announce that the 32nd Annual Red Cross Gala & Auction, chaired by Chancellor and Mrs. Gary L. Miller, is scheduled for the evening of March 16, 2013, at the Burney Center on the UNCW campus.
“We are grateful to the Millers for accepting our invitation to chair the Annual Red Cross Gala & Auction,” said Vicki LaBelle, chief executive officer, on behalf of the local Red Cross chapter. “They have a personal connection to the American Red Cross and are passionate about community involvement. We look forward to working with them.”
“A love of place is one of UNCW’s deepest values, and partnerships with agencies like the Red Cross connects our campus to our community in very meaningful ways,” Chancellor Miller said. “Georgia and I are honored to help the Cape Fear Chapter fulfill its mission to save and improve lives across our region.”
Georgia N. Miller, a former chief executive officer of a Red Cross chapter, added: “I have first-hand experience with the dedication and service that American Red Cross volunteers, donors and staff contribute to a community. Gary and I welcome the opportunity to support their efforts by chairing the 2013 gala.”
The Annual Red Cross Gala & Auction is one of the longest running charity galas in the area and is the largest single fundraising event for the local Red Cross chapter. The black-tie affair features live and silent auctions, a gourmet dinner, live music and dancing, and much more. Individual tickets are $150 per person and will be available for purchase after January 1, 2013, at www.redcross.org/capefear. For information on corporate sponsorship opportunities, please contact Vicki LaBelle at email@example.com or call (910) 343-5833.
Gala proceeds will support the vital programs and services provided by the American Red Cross in Brunswick, Columbus, Duplin, New Hanover and Pender counties.
