Volunteers deploying in response to Hurricane Sandy

Five American Red Cross Heart of Missouri Chapter volunteers are in the first wave of Red Cross volunteers to respond to the East Coast in response to Hurricane Sandy. A chapter volunteer, who is from Osage County, deployed Saturday to Harrisburg, Pa., as a logistics chief. Both of the chapter’s emergency response vehicles and their two-person teams deployed Sunday morning to Middletown, N.Y. They were expected to arrive sometime Monday evening.
