March was a busy time for us here at the Red Cross Los Angeles Region as we celebrated March is Red Cross Month.

On March 17, Red Cross volunteers, along with Miracle on the Hudson pilot Captain Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger, were recognized on center court at a Clippers game as part of March is Red Cross Month. Some 200 volunteers received free tickets to the game, which saluted the work of the Red Cross here and around the country.

Our Red Cross LA Talks blog spotlighted Red Cross programs and services with “31 Days of Red” articles posted every day of the month, highlighting a number of services and programs.

And thank you to our Community Ambassadors and other Red Cross volunteers and executives for promoting the Red Cross in their communities. More than 40 cities and municipalities recognized the Red Cross with proclamations and resolutions, including the following cities:  El Segundo, Hawthorne, Temple City, Monrovia, Glendale, Burbank, Palmdale, Lancaster, County of Los Angeles, Agoura Hills, Inglewood, Torrance, Commerce, Pico Rivera,  City of Industry, Manhattan Beach, Artesia, La Mirada, Hawaiian Gardens, Hermosa Beach, Cerritos, Long Beach, Culver City, Los Angeles, Signal Hill, Avalon, Watts, Redondo Beach, Commerce, Paramount, Rolling Hills Estates, Crescenta Valley/La Cresenta, La Habra Heights, Pico Rivera, Vernon, South El Monte, Downey, Covina, Alhambra, Carson, Long Beach and Cerritos.
