“Rich Girl.” “I Can’t Go For That (No Can Do).”Kiss on My List.” If you can instantly hear these classic hits playing in your head and you start singing along, then you know the singing and composing duo Hall & Oates, who recently donated $97,500 for hurricanes and other related storms to the Red Cross. The money came from proceeds of their recent concerts.
The Red Cross recently honored the pair with a plaque in appreciation for their efforts.
Stephanie Pell, Director of Corporations for the Los Angeles Region said: “We are so gratified when our community of celebrities raises money for those in need. We applaud Hall & Oates for their contribution and caring.”
This month the pair will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In 2003, they were named to the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Billboard magazine puts them at No. 15 on its list of the 100 greatest artists of all time and the No. 1 duo.
The Red Cross spends an average of more than $360 million each year to prepare for and respond to disasters, including response to major storms, providing immediate relief and help in the recovery process.
