You can spend Saturday night in front of the TV, or you can buy a ticket and join heroes at the 8th Annual Red Tie gala evening, this Saturday, May 3, at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel in Santa Monica.
The Red Cross presents this formal event each year, and donations go to benefit the Red Cross’ global humanitarian missions. Christine Devine, Fox 11 News anchor and reporter, is hosting the evening which is the largest formal fundraising event of the year for the American Red Cross Los Angeles Region.
Join celebrities and donors for the stellar party and dinner prepared by noted television chef Nick Stellino.
This year, the Red Cross will be honoring Captain Chesley B. “Sully” Sullenberger, the “Miracle on the Hudson” pilot, who miraculously saved the lives of all passengers and crew by executing an emergency landing on the Hudson River in January, 2009. Sully will speak about his unique experience and accept the Red Cross’ inaugural Spirit of the Red Cross Award. Also being honored will the producers and coaches of the NBC hit series, “The Voice,” who will receive the Crystal Cross Award, with several contestants on hand to cheer them on. Cast members from NBC’s “Grimm” will also be attending. The UCLA People Animal Connection, an award-winning hospital dog therapy program, will be honored.
Guests will have the chance to be part of the silent and live auctions and bid on some unique items, including an autographed model of Captain Sully’s plane, luxury hotel and spa experiences and tickets to the season finale of “The Voice.”
