She was a great boss and a real go-getter for the Red Cross.

Dovre (Duffy) Busch volunteered for the American Red Cross Santa Cruz County Chapter for more than 30 years before moving to Arkansas in

2011 to live with her family.

She died November 18, 2013, at the age of 75.

As volunteer coordinator for Blood Services in Santa Cruz County, Duffy recruited volunteers and organized blood drives across the county.

Sandy Peters, Santa Cruz County Chapter Disaster Action Team volunteer and caseworker, was one of Duffy’s recruits five years ago and remembers her former manager fondly.

“She was a great boss and a real go-getter for the Red Cross,” said Sandy. “She became a really good friend. She was a great lady.”

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Duffy lived in Santa Cruz from 1985 to 2011. She is survived by her daughters, Allison Busch of Arkansas and Laura Lev of New Jersey, as well as by seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
