WALSENBURG, CO – June 1, 2014 – As a wildfire broke out in Huerfano County in southern Colorado today, the Red Cross stood by, ready to help.
Volunteers from Pueblo are traveling to Walsenburg to open an evacuation center at the community center, 928 Russell Ave., Walsenburg. The evacuation center will offer a place for those affected by the fire.
In addition, the Red Cross has been asked to provide meals for 45 firefighters battling the blaze.
