Red Cross Helping Two People After Killingly Fire

The Red Cross is helping with emergency housing, food and clothing needs.

KILLINGLY, CONN., January 2, 2015 – The American Red Cross is helping two adults after a fire today on Athol Street in Killingly. The Red Cross provided help with emergency housing, food and clothing needs.

Red Cross volunteers Eldon Griffiths, Susan Gregware, Cristie Scarpellini and James Hendricks responded to assist residents affected by the fire.

The Red Cross is also providing comfort kits containing personal care items such as toothbrushes, deodorant, shaving supplies and other items a family might not have been able to gather in the rush to escape the fire.

American Red Cross disaster assistance is free of charge, a gift made possible by generous donations and the work of volunteers.
