The Red Cross is helping with emergency housing and food needs.

WATERBURY, CONN., DECEMBER 9, 2103 – The American Red Cross is helping one adult and one child with emergency housing and food needs after a fire earlier today on Manhan Street in Waterbury. The Red Cross also provided a stuffed animal toy to the displaced child. Red Cross volunteers John Lennon and Amy Thomas responded to assist the family.

The Red Cross is also providing comfort kits containing personal care items such as toothbrushes, deodorant, shaving supplies and other items a family might not have been able to gather in the rush to escape the fire.

American Red Cross disaster assistance is free of charge, a gift made possible by generous donations and the work of volunteers.
