Red Cross Helping five People After Bridgeport Fire

The Red Cross is helping with emergency housing, food and clothing needs.

BRIDGEPORT, CONN., NOVEMBER 6, 2013 – The American Red Cross is helping a family of five – three adults and two children – with emergency housing, food and clothing needs after a fire earlier today on Woodrow Avenue in Bridgeport. Stuffed toys were provided for the two children displaced by the fire. Red Cross volunteer Mark Rozelle and Red Cross worker Kristen Binau responded to assist the family.

The Red Cross is also providing comfort kits containing personal care items such as toothbrushes, deodorant, shaving supplies and other items a family might not have been able to gather in the rush to escape the fire.

American Red Cross disaster assistance is free of charge, a gift made possible by generous donations and the work of volunteers.
