Red Cross Helps Family of Four After Hartford Fire

The Red Cross is helping with emergency housing, food and clothing needs.

HARTFORD, CONN., September 30, 2014 – The American Red Cross is helping a family of four – one adult and three children – after a fire yesterday on Edgewood Street in Hartford. The Red Cross is providing help with emergency housing, food and clothing needs, as well as stuffed animal toys for the affected children.

Red Cross team member Patricia Calcinari met with the family to provide assistance.

The Red Cross is also providing comfort kits containing personal care items such as toothbrushes, deodorant, shaving supplies and other items the family might not have been able to gather in the rush to escape the fire.

American Red Cross disaster assistance is free of charge, a gift made possible by generous donations and the work of volunteers.
