Red Cross Helps Family of Four After Thompson Fire

The Red Cross is helping with emergency housing needs.

THOMPSON, CONN., September 4, 2014 – The American Red Cross is helping a family of two adults and two children with emergency housing needs after a fire last night on Main Street in Thompson. The Red Cross also provided stuffed animal toys for the displaced children.

Red Cross volunteers Eldon Griffiths, Sue Gregware and Amy Rochester responded to assist the family.

The Red Cross is also providing comfort kits containing personal care items such as toothbrushes, deodorant, shaving supplies and other items a family might not have been able to gather in the rush to escape the fire.

American Red Cross disaster assistance is free of charge, a gift made possible by generous donations and the work of volunteers.
