Red Cross Helps Seven People After North Stonington Fire

The Red Cross is providing help with emergency housing, food and clothing needs.

NORTH STONINGTON, CONN., September 2, 2014 – The American Red Cross is helping a family of seven – four adults and three children – with emergency housing, food and clothing needs as well as stuffed animal toys for the affected children, after a fire today on Cedar Drive in North Stonington. Red Cross volunteers FX Williams, Karen Williams and Lynn Wynn responded to assist the family.

The Red Cross is also providing comfort kits containing personal care items such as toothbrushes, deodorant, shaving supplies and other items a family might not have been able to gather in the rush to escape the fire.

American Red Cross disaster assistance is free of charge, a gift made possible by generous donations and the work of volunteers.
