Red Cross Helps Seven People After Waterbury Fire

The Red Cross is helping with emergency food and clothing needs.

WATERBURY, CONN., September 22, 2014 – The American Red Cross is helping a family of seven people – two adults and five children – after a fire today on Bucks Hill Road in Waterbury. The Red Cross is providing help with emergency food and clothing needs. The family was able to make other arrangements for housing.

Red Cross volunteers Amy Thomas and Joseph Cozza responded to assist the family.

The Red Cross is also providing comfort kits containing personal care items such as toothbrushes, deodorant, shaving supplies and other items a family might not have been able to gather in the rush to escape the fire.

American Red Cross disaster assistance is free of charge, a gift made possible by generous donations and the work of volunteers.
