Red Cross Helps Two People After Southbury Fire

The Red Cross is helping with emergency food, clothing and household needs.

SOUTHBURY, CONN., November 13, 2014 – The American Red Cross is helping two adults with emergency food, clothing and household needs after a fire today on Berkshire Road in Southbury. The residents were able to make other arrangements for temporary housing. Red Cross volunteers Jon Seaman and Amy Thomas responded to assist the family.

The Red Cross is also providing comfort kits containing personal care items such as toothbrushes, deodorant, shaving supplies and other items a person might not have been able to gather in the rush to escape the fire.

American Red Cross disaster assistance is free of charge, a gift made possible by generous donations and the work of volunteers.
