Two Norwich Families Get Help After Fire

The Red Cross is providing help with emergency housing, food and baby needs.

NORWICH, CONN., February 1, 2014 – The American Red Cross is helping six people – five adults and one child in two families – after a fire today on Boswell Avenue in Norwich. The Red Cross is providing a family of three adults and one child help with emergency housing, food and baby needs. A second family of two adults is receiving help with emergency food needs.

Red Cross volunteers Dave Beatty and Bruce Adams responded to assist the families.

The Red Cross is also providing comfort kits containing personal care items such as toothbrushes, deodorant, shaving supplies and other items a family might not have been able to gather in the rush to escape the fire.
