American Red Cross Helping 16 People After Early Tuesday Fire in Providence

Sixteen people have a safe, warm place to stay and help with emergency needs.

PROVIDENCE, R.I., SEPTEMBER 24, 2013 - The American Red Cross is helping 16 people - eight adults and eight children - in three families after an early Tuesday morning fire on Borinquen Street in Providence. The Red Cross is providing help with emergency housing, food and clothing needs.

American Red Cross disaster assistance is free of charge, a gift made possible by generous donations and the work of volunteers.
