Red Cross Helping 10 People After East Providence Fire

The Red Cross is helping with emergency housing, food and clothing needs.

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I., November 13, 2014 – The American Red Cross is assisting 10 adults after a fire yesterday on Willett Avenue in East Providence. The Red Cross is assisting the affected residents with emergency housing, food and clothing needs. Red Cross team members Melissa Shires, Steve Carr, Henry Lesier, Bob Foti, Liz McDonald and Amy Rodenbaugh responded to assist the residents.

The Red Cross is also providing comfort kits containing personal care items such as toothbrushes, deodorant, shaving supplies and other items a family might not have been able to gather in the rush to escape the fire.

American Red Cross disaster assistance is free of charge, a gift made possible by generous donations and the work of volunteers.
