For more than 130 years, the American Red Cross has supported the U.S. military, veterans, and their families through its Service to the Armed Forces (SAF) program. On Oct. 25, for the second year in a row in support of SAF, 20 PepsiCo employees took part in a ribbon-making project at the company’s Somers, N.Y., location. The project was just one of many during the annual PepsiCo Gives Back volunteer day.
The ribbons will be provided to local service members, their families, and veterans on Veterans Day and at other military community events throughout the Greater New York Region.
Liz Clark, a Metro New York North SAF leadership volunteer who participated in the event, said, “Ribbons of support that traverse the miles were created by a Pepsi team that believes in giving back. A simple gesture of a ribbon reminds those who have served and continue to serve that we remember them.”
