New Executive Director to Lead Mid-Hudson Valley Chapter

Laurynn’s background & experience make her an excellent fit to lead the Red Cross in this community.

The American Red Cross is pleased to announce the appointment of Laurynn Myers as the new Executive Director of the organization’s Mid-Hudson Valley Chapter. In this role, Myers will focus on expanding the corps of local volunteers and donors who support the work of the Red Cross across the chapter’s four-county service area. 

“Laurynn’s background and experience make her an excellent fit to lead the Red Cross in this community,” said Eric Kiszkiel, Board Chair for the American Red Cross of the Mid-Hudson Valley. “We are excited to welcome her and see her passion and energy at work to help strengthen our local mission.”

A native of the Hudson Valley, Myers has spent most of career in the non-profit sector. She brings a wealth of experience in fundraising, community relations, and volunteer engagement to her new position, having served as the Assistant Director of Annual Giving at the Sage Colleges and as the Development & Communications Manager for the Food Pantries for the Capital District, Inc. Most recently, Myers was the Communications Specialist for Questar III BOCES, serving the Troy and Taconic Hills public school districts.

“I am honored and excited to have the opportunity to work for the Red Cross to serve the community which I call home,” Myers said. “I look forward to building and strengthening relationships here to help deliver life-saving Red Cross programs and services every day.”

The Mid-Hudson Valley Chapter, which operates with the support of more than 800 volunteers, serves nearly 600,000 people across Columbia, Greene, Ulster and Dutchess counties. It is one of four Red Cross Chapters in the Eastern New York Region, providing disaster relief, preparedness education, health and safety skills training, support for members of the military, and more.
