Fire Season Going Strong In Georgia

Fire Season Going Strong In Georgia
Georgia’s Red Cross has responded to 250 fires so far this month, including three this morning.

As most of the country knows, November is bringing nasty winter weather ahead of schedule this year. Sadly, along with the bitter cold, home fires are on the rise.

Georgia’s Red Cross has responded to 250 fires so far this month, including three this morning in South Georgia.

Disaster volunteer Isha Adams (left) arrived quickly to help an Adel (Cook County) family while their house was still in flames! She provided Gunilla Jones (seated) and her seven children with food and clothing, and made sure they’d have a place to sleep tonight. “The assistance from the Red Cross will go a long way towards our recovery,” said Jones. “Our family is very grateful.”

Georgia’s Red Cross is asking everyone to remember our neighbors who need help this holiday season. Please give something that means something with an online donation for local disaster relief: https://www.redcross.org/quickdonate/index.jsp
