Teresa Cesnick is a Disaster Action Team (DAT) Responder for the Western Maryland Chapter of the American Red Cross. She has been a dedicated member of the DAT since joining in May 2013. In an area of Maryland where the population is small, volunteers are required to wear many hats. Teresa responds to disasters in both Allegany and Garrett Counties, and is also a member of the Community Outreach team for Western Maryland. With her disaster training and passion for influencing the community, Teresa has volunteered to attend community education events, assisted with the first Home Fire Campaign event in Western Maryland, and made extra effort to be available for the day-to-day disaster response.
In each opportunity to serve, Teresa has made the emergency response her priority, often putting the client’s needs before her own previously established plans. Teresa’s exceptional service allows for all of the clients she interacts with to experience the giving nature of the American Red Cross. Most recently, Teresa has accepted a position to lead the Pillowcase Project in Western Maryland, which will deliver disaster preparedness education to 3rd-5th graders. Thank you, Teresa, for your service and dedication!
