“We trust our donation is going to the right people when we give to the Red Cross.”

Much needed relief items were delivered to the Saipan Port today. (Picture attached.) The American Red Cross has been awaiting the delivery and is preparing to provide these items to those who need them.

Local businesses like Joeten Dai Dai Foundation, who donated $40,000 in cash and in-kind donations, say they have confidence in the Red Cross’ ability to help the people of Saipan. “We trust our donation is going to the right people when we give to the Red Cross.” said Patty McDonald, Executive Director of the Joeten Dai Dai Foundation.

“We’re grateful to the many members of our community providing support to the Red Cross during this difficult time for those on the island,” said John Hirsh, Executive Director of the Northern Mariana Islands Chapter. “The success of our relief operation is dependent on the generosity and goodwill of those who live here.”

Meanwhile, the Red Cross continues to meet with those who have appointments to receive Red Cross support. Anyone who has already registered with the Red Cross should not call back. The Red Cross will contact them as quickly as possible. Those who have not called the Red Cross and are in need of assistance should call 234-3459, 24 hours a day.  The call to the Red Cross is free when made with most prepaid phones. Due to high call volumes, patience is appreciated and calls after hours may be preferred. Those seeking assistance should not visit the Red Cross office without an appointment.
