The kind, courageous and selfless deeds of these heroes are directly linked to the Red Cross mission

The Hawaii State Chapter of the American Red Cross is honoring its Heroes of the Year during March for Red Cross Month.  The kind, courageous, and selfless deeds of these heroes are directly linked to the Red Cross mission of preventing and alleviating human suffering.  These inspiring individuals demonstrate that inside each human being is a hero, ready to step up to the plate and assist those in need.  These are our “heroes.”

Among our dedicated Red Cross volunteers, we celebrate these individuals picked as Volunteers of the Year:

  • Ray Moody (Oahu)
  • Yukie Ohashi (East Hawaii)
  • Cathy Lewis (West Hawaii)
  • Lester Keanini (Maui County)
  • Bill Butler (Kauai)
  • John Henry Felix (Lifetime Volunteer)
  • Our community heroes this year include:

  • Robbie Bal (Lifesaver Hero)
  • Officer Shayne Sesoko and Officer Wade Tamarra (In the Line of Duty Heroes)
  • Steven Yim (Youth Hero)
  • Bailey Miyamoto (Animal Hero)
