Evacuation Centers Begin to Close in Maui County

Red Cross advises that residents continue to listen to local authorities and news for updates.

At the request of the Maui County Civil Defense, Maui County Red Cross volunteers are closing 7 evacuation centers today in Maui County.  The following evacuation centers are closing today: 

 

  • Lokelani Intermediate (pet friendly)
  • King Kekaulike High
  • Hana High & Elementary
  • Molokai High
  • Kilohana Elementary
  • Lahaina Civic Center
  • Lanai High & Elementary

 

The Red Cross advises that residents continue to listen to local news or a NOAA Weather Radio for updates on the situation and to stay alert for extended rainfall and subsequent flooding.  For more information on what to do after returning home go to www.redcross.org/prepare/disaster/hurricane or www.redcross.org/prepare/disaster/flood.
