Hawaii Red Cross Volunteers Deploying to Guam

As part of the Pacific Region, we are prepared to help the Red Cross in Guam.

Two Hawaii Red Cross volunteers are deploying to Guam on Wednesday to help with the Red Cross response to Tropical Storm Dolphin.  Rebecca King, a Maui volunteer, will be assisting in client casework and Candy Iha, an Oahu volunteer, will be assisting in health services. 

“As part of the Pacific Region, we are prepared to help the Red Cross in Guam.  Volunteers are standing by,” said Coralie Chun Matayoshi, Chief Executive Officer of the Hawaii State Chapter of the American Red Cross.

The Red Cross is a non-profit humanitarian organization which provides assistance to meet the immediate emergency needs of those affected by disasters. All Red Cross assistance to disaster victims is free. The Red Cross is not a government agency; it depends on public contributions to help others.
