All Oahu Shelters Close Today; Some Big Isle Shelters Remain Open

Working in partnership with the Department of Emergency Management, Honolulu City & County Office of Housing, Hawaii Red Cross volunteers plan to close all evacuation shelters on Oahu today:

CITY & COUNTY OF HONOLULU 

  • Campbell High School
  • Kaimuki High School (pet friendly)
  • Kaiser High School
  • McKinley High School
  • Castle High School
  • Mililani High School
  • Pearl City High School (pet friendly)
  • Waialua High School/Intermediate (pet friendly)
  • Nanakuli High School/Middle (pet friendly)
  • BYU-HAWAII (pet friendly)

 

BIG ISLAND

The following evacuation shelters will remain open until further notice to support individuals impacted by the storm:

  • Kealakehe High (pet friendly)
  • Keaau High (pet friendly)
  • Kau High (pet friendly)

 

The Red Cross advises that residents continue to listen to local news or a NOAA Weather Radio for updates on the situation and to stay alert for extended rainfall and subsequent flooding.  For more information on what to do after returning home go to www.redcross.org/prepare/disaster/hurricane
