Heroes of the Heartland Essay Contest

ESSAY QUALIFICATIONS

Who is your hero? Tell us about someone you know who, through some act of kindness, courage and / or unselfishness, has made a positive impact on your life.

On 8 1/2” x 11” paper, write or type about your hero in Times New Roman, size 12 font in 400 words or less. Include your name, school, grade, and teacher’s name.

Students in grades 3 through 12 in Buena Vista, Cherokee, Clay, Dickinson, Emmet, Ida, Kossuth, Lyon, Monona, O’Brien, Osceola, Palo Alto, Plymouth, Sac, Sioux and Woodbury, IA; Dakota, NE and Union, SD counties are invited to write about their hero.
