The Greater Idaho Chapter of the American Red Cross teamed up with the Boise Hawks Friday night to raise awareness of CPR/AED skills, blood donations and emergency preparedness.
Dane Watkins, chairman of the Red Cross Board of Directors, threw out a ceremonial first pitch, while staffers encouraged baseball fans to try their hand(s) at CPR. In the fourth inning, two families competed in a First Aid Relay for tickets to an upcoming Hawks game and a Red Cross Family First Aid Kit.
Chris Bolton of Red Cross Preparedness, Health and Safety Services even demonstrated CPR on Hawks mascot Humphrey.
The night ended with a 10-7 Hawks victory over the Spokane Indians and celebratory fireworks.
The Red Cross is proud to support the Boise Hawks and their 2014 "Healthy Hawks" campaign. Thank you to everyone who turned out for this great community event.
