Update on Red Cross Services for Wildfire Victims

Mountain Home, ID, August 15, 2013. The Red Cross will utilize the Mountain Home Shelter at 440 E. 8th St. North, to provide Client casework on Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. to those Falls Creek residents who were allowed into the area to view their demolished homes on Friday morning.

The Salvation Army is preparing snack/lunch bags and water to those entering the devastated area between 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. The Red Cross will provide funds for food, clothing, shoes and other necessities to those in need.

We are also taking the Emergency Response Vehicle into Prairie today and possibility on Saturday to provide hydration, snacks, gloves and large trash bags to those working on their damaged homes. We will also be assessing the need for client services to replace food that was destroyed because of lack of electricity. We may set up a Client Service Center in the area to provide assistance.
