This June, the American Red Cross marks a century of service in Greater Chicago. As a tribute to the work we carry out daily here at home and around the world, we’re celebrating World Refugee Day alongside partners and friends who make our mission possible.
Join us for a program showcasing the collaborative spirit among refugee communities in light of our 100th anniversary:
Monday, June 15th from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m.
Chicago’s Daley Plaza
Program will include cultural performances, informational exhibits, guest speakers and birthday cake from Chicago’s famous Portillo’s Restaurant. All are invited.
Established in 2001, World Refugee Day honors the lives of refugees and asylees, giving a voice to their stories and raising awareness of the millions across the world who have been forced to flee their homes. For decades, the Red Cross has been reuniting refugees and their loved ones through the Restoring Family Links program.
This event is brought to you by the World Refugee Day Chicago Committee, a collaborative of non-profit organizations that are dedicated to serving our refugee communities in Chicago.
