The American Red Cross provided emergency assistance to two Northeast Missouri families after they experienced the devastating loss of a home fire in the past week.
The first fire occurred on October 22 in Center, MO. Trained Red Cross volunteers met one-on-one with the family of 5 to provide them with their emergency needs. Another fire occurred last night, October 29, in Monroe City, MO. Red Cross volunteers responded to the scene and assisted the family of 3 with their emergency needs.
Each year, the American Red Cross immediately responds to about 70,000 natural and man-made disasters in the U.S., ranging from fires to hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, tornadoes, hazardous materials spills, transportation accidents and explosions.
People count on the Red Cross to help them in their darkest hour. In turn, the support of donors makes it possible for the Red Cross to fulfill its humanitarian mission.
