The American Red Cross Louisville Area Chapter announced today that Jennifer Adrio has been named Chief Executive Officer of the organization, overseeing 55 counties throughout Kentucky and Southern Indiana.
“This is a great day for the Red Cross. Jennifer is the perfect choice to lead the chapter,” said Bill Howard, Board of Directors Chair for the Red Cross and CEO of Fastline Publications. “We truly believe she will help further the Red Cross mission within our community and throughout the Kentuckiana Region as the organization continues to provide food and shelter in emergencies, assist members of our armed forces and their families, teach lifesaving skills, and more.”
Well known in the Louisville business community, Ms. Adrio has been with the Metro United Way for over 23 years, having served as its Executive Vice President since 2000. During her tenure at Metro United Way, the organization has received several national awards for initiatives in increasing revenues in planned giving and major gift programs. Adrio received a degree in Marketing from the University of Iowa. She is an experienced leader and well regarded for her fundraising ability throughout the Louisville area. In addition, she has worked closely with the Red Cross during her tenure at United Way and has an appreciation and understanding of the mission of the Red Cross.
“I’m honored and humbled to accept this position and look forward to serving the needs of our community,” said Adrio. “Overall, I most look forward to continuing to support Louisville and the Kentuckiana Region through the vital work the American Red Cross does each and every day.”
