Disaster Shelter Training Opportunities

The Red Cross workforce is more than 95% led by volunteers serving in their local communities.

The American Red Cross Central California Region is offering training opportunities for those interested in becoming Red Cross volunteers on September 24, 2016 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The two training locations are:

Strathmore Union High School, 22568 Avenue 196, Strathmore, CA 93267. Click here to register

Adult School – San Luis Obispo Coastal Unified, 1500 Lizzie Street B-3, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401. Click here to register

Both events will provide potential volunteers with all the orientation and training they need to support a Red Cross shelter during a disaster. Learn everything about basic shelter operations and emergency response in order to support the community during wildfires, landslides, or other natural disasters.

The Red Cross workforce is more than 95% led by volunteers serving in their local communities. With a very active wildfire region, the local Red Cross relies on the support of generous volunteers who donate their time to provide relief and comfort to those in need.
