Aug. 11, 2016 - The American Red Cross Los Angeles Region announced today that Cedars-Sinai is supporting the second phase of the Red Cross Los Angeles PrepareLA Campaign with a gift of $50,000.

PrepareLA focuses on preparing individuals and families for all types of disasters by providing tips, tools, and training, and also promotes community resiliency with a focus on Southern California’s most vulnerable communities.

This is the second gift that Cedars-Sinai has made to the Campaign, with the first being in 2014.

“We believe that this contribution will help improve emergency preparedness levels and overall resilience in the most vulnerable communities of Los Angeles,” said Jonathan Schreiber, Director of Community Engagement at Cedars-Sinai.

Cedars-Sinai has been a generous donor to the American Red Cross over the years, including contributions to support international earthquake relief efforts in Ecuador, Japan and Nepal, as well as a 2014 donation to help the victims of a devastating typhoon in the Philippines.

“We could not accomplish everything we do without the generosity of Los Angeles-based organizations like Cedars-Sinai that values the work we are doing to prevent, prepare for and respond to disasters in our community,” said Jarrett Barrios, CEO, American Red Cross Los Angeles Region.
