Join us to learn about the Red Cross and how you can volunteer
The American Red Cross will host an informational session at the American Red Cross 209, Farmington Avenue, Farmington, Connecticut on Thursday, November 10, 2016 from 5 – 7 p.m.
The information session is designed for both prospective and existing volunteers. Prospective volunteers will gain an overview of the Red Cross mission, all five lines of service and about the many volunteer opportunities available. Existing volunteers will have the opportunity to learn more about additional volunteer roles available and meet current and prospective volunteers.
“Our mission at the Red Cross is to prevent and alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies,” said Mario Bruno, CEO, American Red Cross Connecticut and Rhode Island Region. “We are able to fulfill that mission by mobilizing the power of volunteers and through the generosity of our donors. We are a volunteer driven organization and we invite everyone to become a Red Crosser and help give back to their community.”
Every single day, the Red Cross helps people in our communities. Whether it’s one displaced family, thousands of disaster victims, or providing care and comfort to an ill or injured service member or veteran or support to a military family member, or collecting lifesaving blood donations, the vital work of the Red Cross is made possible by people like you. It is through the time and care of ordinary people that we can do extraordinary things.
The information session is free and open to the public, NEW volunteers interested in attending the session must register in advance online at https://volunteerconnection.redcross.org/?nd=vms_public_form&form_id=871. For more information please call 860-678-2788.
