West Harford based company donates to disaster relief
Legrand North America, the global specialist in electrical and digital building infrastructures, has made a $50,000 donation to the American Red Cross disaster relief fund. Headquartered in West Hartford, Connecticut, Legrand will also match employee contributions up to a total of $100,000.
Inspired by the devastating and historic flooding in Louisiana this past August, which impacted thousands of residents, Legrand’s donation to Red Cross disaster relief will be used to help the Red Cross prepare for, respond to and help people recover from disasters.
“We’re grateful to Legrand for this generous gift to help support the important work of the Red Cross,” said Mario Bruno, CEO, American Red Cross Connecticut and Rhode Island Region. “On average the Red Cross responds to nearly 66,000 disasters each year, and here in Connecticut we respond to about 600. Legrand’s support helps to enable the Red Cross to provide immediate emergency assistance for those impacted by disasters.”
“When natural disasters strike, we are all neighbors. The ability of those affected to rebound in these times of adversity depends on the support of many, including the services of the American Red Cross. We see our contribution, and that of our employees, as a way to help the Red Cross fulfill its vital mission of providing relief and aiding recovery” said John Selldorff, CEO, Legrand, North America.
