ServiceMaster Restoration By Wills and Red Cross Partnering for Ready 365

ServiceMaster Restoration By Wills partnership is key in helping us educate communities

ServiceMaster Restoration By Wills, based in New London, Connecticut with additional offices in Stamford and Hartford, is partnering with the American Red Cross Connecticut for Ready 365’s Home Fire Preparedness Campaign. As part of the partnership, ServiceMaster Restoration By Wills has contributed $10,000 to the campaign.

“We’re grateful to ServiceMaster Restoration By Wills for this generous gift and for helping us to grow our Ready 365 program in this region,” said American Red Cross Connecticut and Rhode Island Region CEO Mario Bruno. “ServiceMaster Restoration By Wills partnership is key in helping us educate communities on fire safety.”

“ServiceMaster Restoration by Wills is proud to become a supporter of the Red Cross and the Ready 365 program. Being in the disaster restoration industry, we understand the impact and devastation that disasters cause and the importance of responding to those in need. We look supporting the Red Cross in their mission.” Steve Wills, Owner/Managing Director of ServiceMaster Restoration by Wills.

ServiceMaster Restoration By Wills contribution will support American Red Cross emergency preparedness and response services in Connecticut and Rhode Island, in particular, with the goal of reducing injuries and deaths from home fires.

“When disaster strikes, the Red Cross is there to provide immediate assistance with housing, food and other emergency needs,” Bruno said. “Through this campaign, we work proactively to help families be better prepared for the residential fires that make up the majority of our local disaster responses.”

Last year, the Red Cross responded to more than 1,000 local disasters in Connecticut and Rhode Island – most of them residential fires. The Home Fire Preparedness Campaign will bring Red Cross volunteers into communities to educate residents about fire safety and fire escape planning, as well as to install smoke alarms free of charge.

“The presence of working smoke alarms in a home can cut in half the risk of dying in a fire,” Bruno said. “Early warning, combined with a personal escape plan, can provide the precious minutes a family needs to safely escape a fire.”

Through the partnership, ServiceMaster Restoration by Wills employees will have the opportunity to volunteer with the Red Cross. ServiceMaster Restoration by Wills will also share safety information and tips from the Red Cross during the campaign.
