[Hayfork, CA] – [Thursday, August 14, 2015] - The American Red Cross has been in Trinity County in response to client needs since July 31, 2015.
We will be closing our Client Services Center and Fixed Bulk Distribution Center located at the VFW Hall in Hayfork on Saturday, August 15, 2015, at 7:00 PM. We will be closing our doors to the current Evacuation Shelter located at the Solid Rock Christian Fellowship in Hayfork, on the same date and time as above, however, we wanted to ensure local residents all signage, supplies, and equipment will remain at the shelter. The American Red Cross will remain in a readiness state with local resources in case the need arises for further sheltering and client services need. During this specific disaster operation, Volunteers from the American Red Cross responded from throughout Northern California and as far away as Oregon and West Virginia. As of August, 13, 2015, we have had 77 new Shelter registrations, and provided 34 Client Services including financial assistance, and referrals to local, county, state, and federal agencies. We have also provided 325 bulk items including cleaning supplies, rakes, shovels, ice chests, blankets and dry goods. Clients were from multiple communities as a result of numerous Complex Fires throughout Trinity County.
