[Hayfork] – [Tuesday, August 11, 2015] - The American Red Cross in its continuing efforts to assist the victims of the Fork Complex Fires, the South Complex Fires, those currently being evacuated from the Forest Glen area in Trinity County has several operations in effect within the town of Hayfork.
The Evacuation Shelter is located at the Solid Rock Christian Church in Hayfork. In cooperation with our partners at the Salvation Army, we can offer food and shelter assistance to those displaced by fires. The shelter will remain open as long as there is an identified need.
In our transition to client recovery, there is a Red Cross client service center open Monday – Friday, August 10-14, to assist with your recovery. You may call 916-708-9393 between 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM or stop by the VFW Hall in Hayfork on Highway 3 between 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM. After hours, persons seeking assistance can contact the Red Cross 24 Hour Emergency Dispatch Call Center at 844-236-0153.
At the service center, each individual and family will have an opportunity to meet one-on-one with a trained interviewer who will help determine needs and provide urgently needed assistance. Assistance may include providing them with the means to pay for what they need the most – from groceries, new clothing, and rent to emergency home repairs, household items, medicines and tools. The Red Cross may also be able to refer victims to other agencies, which can assist with their needs.
Individuals or families who apply to the Red Cross for assistance must bring with them some form of identification showing their address, as proof that they lived in the area affected by the disaster.
All Red Cross disaster assistance is free, made possible by voluntary gifts of time and money from the American people. To help victims of this and other disasters, contributions can be made to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund by calling 1-800-HELP
