New Regional Services - Armed Forces Program Specialist

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The American Red Cross is pleased to announce Christopher Snell, as the new Services to Armed Forces (SAF) Regional Program Specialist for the Indiana Region of the American Red Cross. Snell will assume responsibility building strong relationships with military leadership, key organizations and community leaders of the SAF division for the Red Cross. “The appointment of Christopher in this new role has already made him a key addition to the Red Cross. We view his new hiring as a sign of our commitment to helping members of the military, veterans and their families, as they prepare for, cope with and respond to, the challenges of military service,” said Tom Triplett, Regional Services to Armed Forces Manager.

Snell comes with a wealth of experience, having served the United States Marine Corps in the infantry. He deployed to Iraq in 2004 through 2006, and re-enlisted to serve in the United States Marine Corps Special Operations Command as a Critical Skills Operator, then deploying once again to Afghanistan in 2008. Snell was honorably discharged, and moved back to his hometown of Bloomington, Indiana, where he founded a nonprofit organization called Restless Minds, Inc. His goal was to provide a mentoring program developed specifically for Combat Veterans and Law Enforcement Officers who experienced combat related trauma. Snell recently transitioned from Ivy Tech Community College, where he served as the Assistant Director of Safety and Security since 2012.
