The American Red Cross serving Southwest Minnesota is looking for additional local volunteers in the Blue Earth area to help families after disasters such as home fires. To bolster their ranks, the Red Cross is offering a one-day “Fast Track” training on Saturday, December 3, from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. for new volunteers.
“More than 90 percent of the Red Cross workforce is volunteers,” says Leah Pockrandt, Executive Director of the American Red Cross serving Southwest Minnesota. “It’s easy and people will be able to respond after just one day of training.”
“It’s very rewarding to be able to help people,” added Red Cross volunteer and Bricelyn, MN resident Pam Anderson, speaking from her deployment in South Carolina, encouraging others to join the Red Cross to bring help and hope to their neighbors in need.
