March is Red Cross Month

Red Cross Honors Volunteers During National Volunteer Week
The perfect time to honor our Red Cross volunteers, blood donors and financial contributors who bring hope to people facing life’s emergencies while celebrating 100 years of service here in Mississippi

(March 1, 2017) JACKSON, Miss. - This March, the American Red Cross of Mississippi will kick off the celebration of an important milestone during Red Cross month. For 100 years, the Red Cross has delivered vital humanitarian services to the state of Mississippi. From providing emergency relief aid after catastrophic hurricanes, to helping our neighbors recover from a devastating tornadoes. From health and safety classes, to lifesaving blood collection and support of military members, their families and veterans, the Red Cross has helped make Mississippi safer and more prepared.

“March is Red Cross Month, the perfect time to honor our Red Cross volunteers, blood donors and financial contributors who bring hope to people facing life’s emergencies while celebrating 100 years of service here in Mississippi,” said Red Cross Mississippi CEO Ivy Williams “During Red Cross Month, we thank them for their tremendous support.”

For generations, the brave and compassionate volunteers of Mississippi have reached out and cared for many by providing warmth and comfort when hope seemed to be lost. Since 1917, the Red Cross has been imbedded in the local communities throughout the State.
