Greater NY Red Cross Welcomes New Volunteer Services Officer.

Jose Dominguez, former Regional Volunteer Services Officer for the American Red Cross Central and South Texas Region, has joined the American Red Cross in Greater New York. A ten-year veteran of the Red Cross, Mr. Dominguez previously served as the Regional Director of Emergency Services in Austin and also as an administrator in the Eastern New York Region.

“Jose is passionate about volunteers and the vital role they perform in every aspect of our mission. We are so thrilled to welcome him to the Greater New York Region as we continue to prepare New Yorkers and respond to their needs during emergencies,” said Josh Lockwood, CEO of the American Red Cross in Greater New York.

I look forward to sharing this adventure with our dedicated team!”

Mr. Dominguez’s recent accomplishments include:

  • Led the Disaster Services department during transition from a nine county chapter to a 48 county region, creating and refining best practices, developing a cohesive regional staff and volunteer team.
  • Developed and executed multiple region-wide drills, creating new partnerships, generating media attention, improving community preparedness and resilience and increasing financial support.
  • Created and submitted proposals resulting in an additional $1.8 million of Red Cross support for Texas wildfire and West, Texas recovery efforts.
