The American Red Cross of Lowcountry SC announced today that Spinnaker Resorts has donated $10,000 to help people in South Carolina affected by Hurricane Matthew.
“Spinnaker Resorts’ headquarters have been on Hilton Head Island going on 34 years – we have a deep connection with this island and the community. We are so grateful for all the American Red Cross does both locally – during natural disasters like Hurricane Matthew - and around the globe in their ongoing efforts to assist those in need. The residents and businesses of Hilton Head feel fortunate to have The American Red Cross as a partner. Thank you for your enduring hard work,” said Christine Taylor of Spinnaker Resorts.
"During Hurricane Matthew neighbors, communities and businesses came together and support one another and the Red Cross relies on the support of companies like Spinnaker Resorts to care for our community,” said Louise Welch Williams, regional CEO for the Red Cross in South Carolina.
The Red Cross and its partners are working together to help families recover from the impacts of Hurricane Matthew. In the Lowcountry, the Red Cross and community partners have served more than 100,000 meals and snacks, distributed 61,100 relief items, supported more than 1,300 health and mental health services, and provided more than 10,000 overnight stays in 39 shelters. Overall, the Red Cross mobilized 1,300 workers, five kitchens, and 42 response vehicles for the state.
