Luminaria 2016: Lighting the Path Forward, the signature fundraising event for the American Red Cross Serving Central Texas, will take place on April 26th at the Four Seasons.

This year’s gala is expected to be the organization’s biggest yet, as it celebrates the 100th anniversary of the Central Texas chapter charter by honoring a century of humanitarian service and looks forward to a future of delivering its mission in the greater Austin area. Individual tickets and sponsorship opportunities are available here.

Each year at this signature event, the Red Cross honors individuals and organizations that have been instrumental in implementing its mission in the Central Texas Community. This year’s award recipients are:

Lady Bird Johnson Humanitarian Award: Paul Bury

Public Partner of the Year: Silicon Labs

Greg Coleman Tribute Award: Reverend Walter Shuler, Sr. (1923-2015)

“This is a milestone year for the Red Cross in Central Texas, and we are proud to recognize the great work of philanthropists like Paul Bury, whose enduring dedication to this community has made a lasting impact and embodies the humanitarian mission of the Red Cross,” said Marty McKellips, Chief Executive Officer of the American Red Cross, Central & South Texas Region. “This event provides us the opportunity to reflect on our impact over the past century and recognize those special people who have given back to their community in the spirit of great humanitarians like Lady Bird Johnson.”

The gala will raise funds for the American Red Cross Serving Central Texas’ disaster preparedness, response and recovery programs and services in our community. Luminaria is co-chaired by Louis Granger, Member of the Red Cross Board of Directors and Investment Manager at Capital Wealth Management Group, Wells Fargo; and Stacy Armijo, Immediate Past Chair of the Red Cross Board of Directors and Vice President, Pierpont Communications.
