The fact that Gabby Matnog, a student at the school, has a dad who works at the Red Cross and was sent to the Philippines to help sealed the deal.

The students of Malden’s Ferryway School were so moved by the plight of the Philippines after Typhoon Haiyan hit, they needed to take action.

The fact that Gabby Matnog, a student at the school, has a dad who works at the Red Cross and was sent to the Philippines to help sealed the deal.

Gabby’s father Luis Matnog was deployed to the Philippines in November. A native Filipino, he has been in the U.S. and working for the Red Cross as an international responder for 10 years.

The Ferryway School raised $1,870 for the American Red Cross. Of that, $315.48 was raised just by Doreen Girard’s homeroom (pictured above).

There are so many ways you can multiply the gift from the Ferryway School – by donating time or treasure. Find out ways you can help here at RedCross.Org.
