Cape Volunteers provide home baked thank you for local heroes
These drives provide an excellent opportunity for us to thank our local heroes for the service they provide our communities.

This month is the month of Cookie Drives for our Cape Disaster Action Teams. Volunteers from the Mid- Upper and Lower Cape response areas gather together dozens of cookies and other sweets and deliver them to our local fire and police stations.

These drives provide an excellent opportunity for us to thank our local heroes for the service they provide our communities. In pursuit of our mission of preventing and alleviating human suffering, our disaster volunteers work closely with local first responders, and delivering these cookies serves as an excellent opportunity for both volunteers and first responders to interact during quieter times.

“Our volunteers amaze me every day but especially this time of year. They are always thinking of others and the cookie drive is another example of the good they do. They want to make sure our friends at the fire and police departments know they are appreciated, and this is a sweet way to do it!” Hilary Greene, Executive Director of the American Red Cross of the Cape, Islands and Southeast Massachusetts.
