Red Cross to Honor Local Heroes at 13th Annual Heroes Breakfast

Northeast Massachusetts Annual Community Heroes Breakfast
This annual fundraiser makes it possible for the American Red Cross of Northeast Massachusetts to help our neighbors across our 40 cities and towns when they need us most.

The American Red Cross of Northeast Massachusetts is pleased to announce that it will honor local heroes and is now looking to the community for nominations. These heroes will be recognized at the 13th Annual Heroes Breakfast on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Boston North Shore in Danvers from 7:30–9:00 A.M. This annual fundraiser makes it possible for the American Red Cross of Northeast Massachusetts to help our neighbors across our 40 cities and towns when they need us most. NOMINATIONS – Do you know a hero–someone who has saved a life, made our community a safer place or gone above and beyond to help someone in need? Nominations are currently being accepted for individuals who have demonstrated outstanding courage, generosity, and service to others. All heroes must meet at least one of the following criteria: either live or work in the communities served* by the American Red Cross of Northeast Massachusetts (*Essex County); or their heroic act occurred in the chapter’s service territory.

The following categories will be honored at the 2015 event:

  • Enduring Hero: A person who has made a difference in the community by engaging in many different activities over a long period of time.
  • Community Hero: An individual, couple, or family “Good Samaritan” involved with an event, project, or on-going effort that directly benefits the community.
  • First Responder Hero: A Firefighter, Police Officer, EMT, or other first responder who has performed an act beyond the call of duty.
  • Youth Hero: A student (elementary, middle, high school or college) who demonstrates leadership qualities, or is involved with an event, project, or on-going effort that directly benefits the community.
  • Workplace Hero: An organization that has demonstrated unusual leadership and commitment to the community.
  • Military Hero: A member of the Armed Forces who acted above and beyond the call of duty.
  • *Nomination deadline is Friday, January 16, 2015.

    About the Heroes program:

    On March 19, 2015 the American Red Cross of the Northeast along with members of the community will come together to recognize heroic individuals and organizations who have exemplified the mission of the Red Cross over the past year. These heroes gave of themselves to support people within our communities. Please help us celebrate their contributions. This breakfast is one of the largest events on the North Shore, as we anticipate 600 attendees from the business and non-profit communities alike.
